The history of the department
The Department of Informatics and information technologies is the main structural subdivision of the university, the main direction of the taught disciplines is connection with information technologies, without successful mastering of which it is impossible to further study special disciplines for technical, fundamental, economic and other specialties of the university.
At the Department of Informatics and Information technologies, personnel are trained in the following specialties:
Bachelor degree:

Master degree:
- 6М060200-computer (2 years of training in scientific and pedagogical direction, and 1 year of study for specialized programs);
- 6M070300 Information systems (2 years of training in scientific and pedagogical direction and 1.5 years of education for specialized programs).
- 6M011100 – Informatics (2 years of training in scientific and pedagogical direction, and 1 year of study for specialized programs);
- 6M070400 – Computing and software (2 years of training for scientific-pedagogical direction and 1.5 years of education for specialized programs).
The department produces bachelors who can use modern computer equipment, apply algorithmic languages and programming technologies to develop programs for automating the activities of enterprises, create Web applications for the Internet, administer computer networks, develop multimedia, hypertext and client-server, mobile applications, intelligent training system, augmented and virtual reality systems.
The faculty of the department provides the educational process in all areas of training, implemented at the university, in the disciplines “Informatics” and “Information technologies”. When implementing educational and pedagogical activity, modern competence forms and methods of the educational process are used, aimed at developing the abilities and readiness of students for professional work in various social and production conditions.
In 2017- 2018 academic year the Department of informatics and information technologies successfully passed accreditation in 7 areas of bachelor and master’s studies.
2019 Department “Informatics and information technologies” took 3rd place in the ranking of the IAAR on the educational program “5В070500-Mathematical and computer modeling”.
In the 2019-2020 academic year at the Department “Informatics and information technologies” was opened following an educational program.:
Bachelor degree: 6B01509 – Mathematics-Informatics, 6B01510 – Physics-Informatics, 6B06105 – Computer engineering.
Master’s degree: 6M011100 – Informatics , 6M070400 – computer hardware and software;
1 Sep 2019-2020 academic year the Department “Informatics and information technologies” took the II place and won 2 of the monoblock in the nomination “the BEST DEPARTMENT»
