Protection by new technologies

In the laboratory of 3D-modelling of Technopark Zhubanov University took up 3D printing of reusable respiratory masks.

As Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Altynshash Bekbauova, notes: “We have opportunities to create the protective equipment needed now with the help of new technologies, so we need to use these opportunities”.

The manufacturing process is not the fastest, but 3D printed masks have many advantages, masks can be used for a long time, provided that the filters are regularly replaced and plastic products are disinfected (treatment with antiseptics, washing with soap). Normal cotton pads are used as filters.
